Please note the following –

• You will want to bring something to drink due to the extensive field time.
• To best view the birds, bring binoculars (borrow if you do not have) and a good birding field guide.
• We recommend bug repellant, sunscreen, rainwear (if predicted), and sturdy shoes for a more enjoyable field experience.
• There are toilets at the trail parking lot.
• Continued on next page.
• If you miss the carpooling time, proceed as follows – From the parking lot at Shepherd University, take High Street to end. Turn right on Duke Street (WV 480/MD 34). Cross the Potomac River. Take the first right turn onto Canal Road. Do not park at the first, small parking lot at the bottom of the hill, but continue about a half a mile, under the RR bridge and park in the larger lot on the left. The walk will begin quickly after 8:00 am.
